Wolves vs Olympiacos

Europa League

Molineux Stadium

7th August, 12:30 am

Preview

Wolves will be looking to go all the way to qualify for the Champions League when they face Olympiacos at the Molineux Stadium tonight.

Initially, after lockdown, Wolves were one of the best teams in the league but a run of 3 defeats from their last 6 matches dropped them down to 7th in the league. This could’ve given them European football for next season but Arsenal’s FA Cup triumph meant that Wolves couldn’t get it through the League.

Olympiacos, on the other hand, won the Greek title by 18 points. After pushing Tottenham in the Champions League, they shocked Arsenal at the Emirates to progress in the competition. A 1-1 first leg result will give them hope tonight.

Wolverhampton Wanderers are small favourites to win this match tonight but Olympiacos may make things very difficult for them.

Match Prediction: Wolves 2-1 Olympiacos

Unavailable: Semedo (suspension).

No injuries for Wolves.

Probable playing XI

Wolverhampton Wanderers: Patricio, Boly, Coady, Dendoncker, Jonny, Moutinho, Neves, Doherty, Traore, Jimenez, Podence

Olympiacos: Sa, Tsimikas, Cisse, Ba, Elabdellaoui, Guilherme, Bouchalakis, Camara, Masouras, El-Arabi, Valbuena

Top picks

Jimenez: The Wolverhampton Wanderers talisman was the leading goal scorer, joint- 2nd highest goal scorer and the chief penalty taker for the club, which makes him a favourite for captaincy.

Traore: After showing his quality in the league, Traore will look to announce himself on the European stage.

El Arabi: The Olympiacos striker smashed several records in the Greek Super League this season. He will be hungry to get on the score sheet tonight.

Doherty: The Wolvesright wing-back is the standout defensive asset from his team having scored 4 goals and provided 1 assist in Europa League this season.

This match starts at 11:00 AM local time (03:30 PM IST) (10:00 AM UTC). It will be live on Sony Six and Sony Six HD and can be streamed live on SonyLIV. Preview It was quite a topsy-turvy ride in the first Test between England and Pakistan. Both teams kept playing into each other’s hand throughout. But it was Pakistan who had a significant advantage at the end of a majority of the sessions in the game. However, they couldn’t capitalize and let the opposition get the better of them. The brilliant partnership between Jos Buttler and Chris Woakes in the fourth innings was a game-changer for England. While they will be high on confidence, there were several shortcomings that they’ve got to address before the 2nd Test. Meanwhile, Pakist...
